Er kommt direkt vom Dreh. Lesebrille oben,
Badelatschen unten, die Drehbücher von „Morden
im Norden“ in der Hand. Erst mal hinsetzen. An
seinen Stammplatz am Kopf des Tresens.
Da fühlt sich aber jemand zu Hause…
Ingo Naujoks:
Hier immer. (grinst) Wir drehen
inzwischen die siebte Staffel von „Morden im
Norden“ für die ARD. Immer von Mai bis Novem-
ber, Dezember. Ich wohne also seit vielen Jahren
mehrere Monate am Stück im MADISON. Immer
im gleichen Zimmer, obwohl ich nie explizit
darum gebeten habe.
He has come straight from filming. Reading
glasses on his head, flip-flops on his feet and the
scripts for Morden im Norden in his hand. He takes
a seat in his usual spot at the head of the bar.
Somebody clearly feels at home …
Naujoks:
I always do here [he grins]. We are
now filming the seventh series of Morden im
Norden for ARD – always from May to November
or December, so for a number of years I have lived
at the MADISON for several months at a time.
Always in the same room, even though I have
never explicitly requested it. As such, the feeling
of home is never far away. They do everything they
can here to make you feel at home. There are some
places where you just instantly feel at ease. For
me, the MADISON is such a place. It isn’t swanky,
old-fashioned or ultra-modern, but simply cosy
with good karma.
The barman serves a glass of white wine and
adds a couple of ice cubes.
Naujoks:
Thank you.
That works well.
Naujoks:
This bar really does have the friendli-
est service [he raises his glass to the barman].
Whenever I am at the MADISON, I always sit at the
bar and learn my lines. In the thick of it all. It is too
sterile for me in the room or at home. I am a real
hotel child. If I didn’t have any family in Berlin, I
could easily live in a hotel the whole time. This flow,
the constant comings and goings, is just brilliant!
Do people come up and talk to you?
Naujoks:
Of course, and that’s totally OK.
When I’m focused on my reading, I admit it would
be nice of them to wait a little, but I think you live
your life in the public eye as an actor and should
therefore be approachable. There are limits, of
course, but I like it. These people ultimately
finance my work by watching me. Some good
friendships have actually been forged at this bar.
You are also rather relaxed by nature …
Naujoks:
Sometimes I appear a little too
relaxed. When I stayed at the MADISON for the
first time 15 years ago, I asked the kitchen for a
couple of bread rolls. The employee eyed me up
and down and then said: ‘Begging is not

‘I need to be in the thick of it!’
You cannot help but like Ingo Naujoks. The actor is just so approachable. Even in the bar
of the MADISON, which has become something of a home from home for him.
