Zehn Minuten vor der verabredeten Zeit kommt Rainer Bock entspannt in die Bar des MADISON geschlendert. Rainer Bock: Na, das passt ja: ein Interview an der Bar – ausgerechnet mit mir, der keinen Alkohol trinkt. (grinst) Och, es gibt hier auch sehr leckere Drinks ohne Alkohol. Trinken Sie nie Alkohol? Bock: Nein, der hat mir noch nie geschmeckt. Also habe ich es Mitte 20 einfach gelassen. Aber ich nehme gern einen Lemon Fresh, danke. Und können wir uns bitte duzen? Das finde ich netter. Na klar! Warum bist du in Hamburg? Bock: Wir drehen gerade den ZDF-Weih- nachtsfilm, der in Hamburg und Norwegen spielt. Du wohnst mit deiner Familie in München, kommst aber ursprünglich aus Kiel. Spürst du noch norddeutsche Verbundenheit? Bock: Ich bin ja erst mit 34 Jahren weg aus Kiel, das war 1988. Als meine Mutter und dann mein Vater starben, dachte ich „Das war es jetzt, Kiel ist nicht mehr mein Ort.“ Nach der Beerdi- gung saß ich dann eine Weile allein auf einer Bank. Da raschelt es plötzlich neben mir im Friedhofsgebüsch, und heraus kommt ein alter Grundschulfreund. Das war wirklich skurril: Kiki ist Tierfotograf und kroch an dem Tag durch die Friedhofsbüsche auf der Suche nach Motiven. Er hat mir dann zwei Stunden lang erzählt, was aus den Freunden von damals geworden ist. Ich habe einfach zugehört, und mir wurde klar: Kiel wird immer meine Heimat bleiben. Das ist jetzt zwölf Jahre her, seitdem fahre ich regelmäßig hin. Bist du oft im MADISON? Bock: Ein paarmal im Jahr, wenn ich in Hamburg drehe. Das erste Mal war ich vor 25 Jahren privat hier. Ich fand das Hotel sofort toll! Besonders fasziniert haben mich die Türen: Die gingen zu wie bei einer S-Klasse. Dumpf und dicht – im Zimmer war sofort absolute Ruhe. Seitdem bin ich immer im MADISON. Wusstest du, dass es eine Waschküche für Gäste gibt? Das kenne ich von keinem anderen Hotel. Und der absolute Hammer: SKY auf allen Zimmern! Das ist für einen Fußballfan von unschätzbarem Wert. The man is early. Ten minutes before the agreed time, Rainer Bock casually strolls into the bar of the MADISON. Rainer Bock: Well, this is rather apt – an interview at the bar with me of all people, someone who doesn’t drink alcohol. (grins) Oh, there are plenty of very tasty drinks without alcohol. Do you never drink alcohol? Bock: No, I’ve never liked the taste of it, so I stopped drinking in my 20s. But I’d love a Lemon Fresh, please. And can we keep things informal? I prefer it that way. Of course! So why are you in Hamburg? Bock: We are currently filming the ZDF Christ- mas film, which is set in Hamburg and Norway. You live with your family in Munich, but originally come from Kiel. Do you still feel a bond with northern Germany? Bock: I didn’t leave Kiel until I was 34; that was in 1988. When my mother and then my father died, I thought to myself: ‘That’s it now, Kiel is no longer the place for me.’ After the funeral, I sat alone for a while on a bench. Suddenly I heard some rustling in the bushes of the cemetery and an old friend from primary school emerged from them. It was really bizarre. Kiki is a wildlife photographer and was creeping around the cemetery bushes that day looking for subjects. He then spent two hours telling me what had happened to our school friends. I just sat there and listened and it became clear to me that Kiel will always be home. That was twelve years ago and I have been going back regularly ever since. Are you often at the MADISON? Bock: A couple of times a year, whenever I’m filming in Hamburg. The first time I came here was privately 25 years ago. I immediately thought the hotel was brilliant! The doors in particular fasci- nated me: they closed like those on an S-Class. Muffled and well-sealed – there was absolute silence in the room immediately. I have been coming back to the MADISON ever since. Did you know that there’s also a laundry room for guests? I know of no other hotel that offers such facilities. And every single room has SKY TV! That is fantastic and priceless for all soccer fans.
