Aktuell ist die HafenCity das größte innerstädti- sche Stadtentwicklungsprojekt Europas – trotzdem kann man hier auch richtig die Seele baumeln lassen: im Lohsepark etwa, der grünen Lunge des Viertels. Mit 4,4 ha Gesamtfläche ist er die größte zusammenhängende Grünanlage der HafenCity. Der Besuch der Elbphilharmonie darf natürlich nicht fehlen. Vom MADISON ist das neue Wahrzeichen der Hansestadt übrigens in wenigen Gehminuten zu erreichen. Rauf auf die Plaza und den tollen Rundumblick genießen! Danach bietet sich ein Abstecher in Spicy’s Gewürzmuseum (Am Sandtorkai 34) an – riechen und anfassen der Ge- würze aus aller Welt ist ausdrücklich erwünscht. Stärken kann man sich in der Coast Enoteca (Großer Grasbrook 14), die einen Hauch Italien an die Marco-Polo-Terrassen bringt – Traumlage mit Blick auf die „Elphi“ inklusive. Wer es gern etwas lebhafter mag, kommt im beliebten Treffpunkt Club 20457 (Osakaallee 6) auf seine Kosten. HafenCity is currently the largest inner-city urban development project in Europe, but it is still a great place to soothe the soul: in the Lohsepark, for example, the green lung of this district. In kulinarischer Hinsicht kommt man in St. Georg nicht zu kurz. Abwechslung und Leidenschaft auf dem Teller bietet Otto’s Burger (Lange Reihe 40). Gehobener geht es im Cox (Lange Reihe 68) zu, das mit feinem Cross-over aus französischer Bistro- küche und Hamburger Hausmannskost überzeugt. With its small boutiques, restaurants, backyard cafés and magnificent old buildings, the Lange Reihe near the main railway station is one of the most colourful streets in the Hanseatic city. All kinds of people meet here and represent tolerance and togetherness – in St. Georg it’s all about laissez-faire. On the way to the Außenalster, you should walk along St. Georgstraße. Here, there are many old half-timbered houses with sloping doors, deco- rated gables and amazing façades to admire. You can also enjoy the variety of shops: in the Lager- haus (Lange Reihe 27), you can find beautiful things to give others as presents, and The Art of Hamburg (Lange Reihe 48) creates portable art. From a culinary point of view, St. Georg has some- thing to suit everyone. Otto’s Burger (Lange Reihe 40) offers variety and passion on a plate.
