Willkommen im Villenviertel Vornehm, fein, aber alles andere als langweilig: Im mondänen HARVESTEHUDE gibt es allerlei Interessantes zu entdecken. Welcome to luxury district Upmarket, refined, anything but boring: in sophisticated HARVESTEHUDE there are all kinds of interesting things to discover. (1) Das „Holi“-Kino an der Hoheluftbrücke. (5) Romantisch: ein Spaziergang an der Alster. Romantic: a stroll along the Alster. Am nördlichen Ende der Alster, dort, wo der Fluss in den großen See übergeht, liegt Harvestehude. Die Aussicht an dieser Stelle ist einmalig: Wasser, Villen, Gärten am Ufer. Wer den schönen Blick bei einem kleinen Snack genießen möchte, sucht das nahe AlsterCliff (Fährdamm 13) auf. Bei einem Spaziergang merkt man schnell, dass man sich in einem der vornehmsten Viertel der Hansestadt befindet: das Grün der Parks, das Weiß der noblen Altbauten, das Tennisstadion am Rothenbaum (Hallerstr. 89). Angesagt ist auch das Holi Kino (Schlankreye 69), das einem Theater ähnelt und aktuelle Filme zeigt. Wer beim Bummeln Appetit bekommt, ist in Harvestehude gut aufgehoben: Das Butcher’s (Milchstr. 19) glänzt mit amerikanischen Steaks, spanische Tapas gibt es in der Bodega Castellana (Schlüterstr. 79). Tipp: Dienstags und freitags findet unter dem Hochbahnviadukt zwischen den U-Bahnstationen Hoheluftbrücke und Eppendorfer Baum der Isemarkt statt. Er gilt als „längster Wochenmarkt Europas“ und ist sehr zu empfehlen. Harvestehude is located at the northern end of the Alster, where the river merges into the large lake. The view from this spot is unique: water, villas, gardens on the shore. If you want to enjoy the beautiful view with a snack, visit the nearby AlsterCliff (Fährdamm 13). As you walk, you quickly notice that you’re in one of the most elegant quarters of the Hanseatic city: the green of the parks, the white of the noble old buildings, the tennis stadium at Rothenbaum (Hallerstr. 89). The Holi Kino (Schlankreye 69), which resembles a theatre and shows current films, is also a trendy place to be. Those who get an appetite while strolling are in good hands in Harvestehude: Butcher’s (Milch- str. 19) exudes brilliance with its American steaks, while Spanish tapas can be found in the Bodega Castellana (Schlüterstr. 79). Tip: the Isemarkt takes place on Tuesdays and Fridays under the Hochbahn viaduct between the underground sta- tions Hoheluftbrücke and Eppendorfer Baum.
