Willkommen in
„Marley’s Restaurant“
Welcome to Marley’s Restaurant
Whether you fancy a light snack or a full meal, Marley’s
has just what you’re looking for – every morning, lunch-
time and evening!
Tischlein, deck dich! Das perfekte Ambiente für ein schönes Essen.
A stylish table setting. The perfect atmosphere for a wonderful meal.
Dann machen sie ihren Job gern – was wiederum
die Gäste zufrieden und glücklich macht.“
Ein Chef, der auch mal Gläser poliert
Dass seine Haltung nicht unbedingt selbstver-
ständlich ist, erfährt Thomas Kleinertz immer
wieder.
Foto kannte. So was würde bei uns nie passieren.“
Was liebt er
And what does his typical day involve? ‘I start by
doing my morning round of the hotel, have a cup
of coffee with my colleagues from the maintenance
departmentand, find out who is working and when,
and then check the list of guests arriving. Which
guests are staying at the hotel? Does anyone have
a birthday? Is there an anniversary?’ This is
followed by meetings with departmental managers,
the marketing team and the head chef. ‘My job
also consists of arranging contracts with service
providers, establishing when a new coffee
machine is needed or discussing plans with the
interior designer. And, of course, the entire
financial part.’ Thomas Kleinertz is a team player
and will always listen to his colleagues’ concerns,
worries and ideas. ‘We make lots of decisions
together to ensure that everyone is involved,’
explains the director. ‘I primarily see it as my job
to stay in close contact with the employees and
make sure that they are happy. Then they will
enjoy doing the job, which in turn makes the
guests happy.’
A boss who also sometimes polishes
the glasses
Thomas Kleinertz is often reminded that the
approach he adopts is not necessarily a given.
‘A new colleague came up to me after working
here for three months and said: “I would like to
thank you!” When I gave him a quizzical look, he
continued: “For talking to us” ’ It turned out that
he only knew his previous Managing Director from
a photo. That would never happen here. And the
boss also gets stuck in. If the restaurant service is
under stress because somebody is absent, Thomas
Kleinertz rolls up his sleeves, polishes glasses,
clears dishes away and takes care of the buffet so
that his team has more time to attend to the guests
at the tables. So what does he like best about
his job? ‘The fact that every day is different and
always brings new challenges. Of course, there
are also tricky days, but then someone suddenly
taps you on the shoulder and tells you how much
they are enjoying their stay. Such moments are
priceless and the nicest reward for the best job in
the world.’
